yu quest Televentures' to redefine the smartphone flagship continues with the latest victim, Yu Yunicorn. previous efforts, Yutopia (review), is an ambitious smartphone that looks tempting on paper, but does not quite meet our expectations when we tested.

this time with Yunicorn, the company has decided to call down a bit and focus on some key areas such as software and services. Smartphone launched in crowded, cruel sub-Rs. 15,000 segment, which is not an easy area to compete in any size. Yu Yunicorn must prove their courage against the likes of Xiaomi redmi Note 3 (reviewed), Lenovo Zuk Z1 (Review) and Moto G4 Plus (review). Let's see how well it did.

Yu Yunicorn Review

see and feel it
One look at the phone and it was easy to see that Yunicorn is the best looking and best built Yu smartphone to date. Metal unibody made and lightly brushed to look back is nice aesthetic touches. It's not so thin at 8.5mm and too little on the heavy side at 172 grams but we managed to get used to it. The front of the phone looks almost identical to that of the Oppo F1 Plus while the rear camera reminds us a lot redmi Note 3. It's not unusual for the design overlap, but we expect at least some originality when it comes to design.

Display 5.5-inch full-HD has a pretty solid number of pixels for sharp images and text. Sunlight legibility is quite good and we did not face any problems with touch response. The screen gets protective glass of NEG (Nippon Electric Glass). Border on each side of the screen is very thin. There is a notification light on it and the physical home button below. The latter also has a built-in fingerprint sensor, which works well to unlock the phone.
